The Indian National Congress has signalled its reliance on veteran MLA Pargat Singh to manage party affairs in Punjab as the state polls near.
The Congress party is sharpening its focus on Punjab as the state assembly elections approach, and it has placed its confidence in Pargat Singh, a three‑term legislator, to guide its regional strategy.
Pargat Singh, a former international hockey captain who entered politics years ago, has won three consecutive terms from his constituency, earning a reputation for grassroots connectivity and organizational skill.
Party insiders say his experience and local standing will be pivotal in coordinating campaign activities, rallying supporters, and addressing key issues that matter to Punjab voters.
By foregrounding a seasoned leader, Congress aims to bolster its electoral prospects in a state where it seeks to regain lost ground.
