The Congress party approached the Election Commission in Jaipur, alleging that officials favoured the BJP in the recent local body elections and demanding an inquiry.
Congress representatives, including officials from the Dotasra-Juli area, visited the Election Commission headquarters in Jaipur to lodge a formal complaint over alleged irregularities in the recent Rajasthan local body elections. The party claims that certain election officials acted in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party, compromising the fairness of the voting process.
In their petition, Congress demanded that the Commission initiate a thorough investigation into the conduct of the accused officers and take appropriate action if bias is proven. The party emphasised that impartiality is essential for the credibility of the electoral system, especially ahead of upcoming state-level polls.
The Election Commission has not yet issued a public response, but standard procedure dictates that any such complaint will be examined by a senior officer, and if merit is found, a detailed inquiry will be ordered.
