Congress Protesters Barricade Bhopal Election Commission Office, Police Use Water Cannon

Earlier today, a group of Congress workers entered the premises of the Election Commission office in Bhopal and set up barricades as part of a protest against the recently issued SIR. The demonstrators climbed onto the makeshift barriers, attempting to prevent officials from accessing the building.
Police forces arrived at the scene and, after attempts to disperse the crowd peacefully failed, deployed water cannons to push the protesters back. The forceful spray was aimed at the barricades where activists were positioned.
The water‑cannon action resulted in several activists sustaining injuries, though the exact number of the wounded has not been confirmed. Medical assistance was provided on site, and the area remains under police control as the situation is being contained.
