Congress Pays Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri in Jalandhar

The Indian National Congress organised a tribute event in Jalandhar to commemorate two of the nation’s most revered leaders, Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. Party members gathered at a designated venue in the city and offered floral wreaths and brief remarks acknowledging the leaders' contributions to India’s freedom struggle and nation‑building.

The ceremony underscored the Congress’s continued reverence for Gandhi’s philosophy of non‑violence and Shastri’s legacy of integrity and decisive leadership. Attendees included local party officials and supporters who participated in the homage.

Amar Ujala reported the event, noting that the tribute was part of the party’s broader effort to reaffirm its historical roots ahead of upcoming political activities in Punjab.
