Congress MP Ghulam Mir applauded BRICS’ condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack, while questioning the preferential treatment of China and reminding of its recent Galwan clash and territorial claims.
The BRICS group issued a joint statement condemning the terror attack that took place in Pahalgam, Kashmir, calling it a heinous act that must be met with a firm response.
Congress MP Ghulam Mir welcomed the condemnation, stating that it sends a strong message to those who seek to destabilise the region.
Mir also took the opportunity to question the ‘red carpet’ treatment of China, reminding that the country had martyred Indian soldiers in the Galwan Valley clash and has been encroaching on disputed territories in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh.
He urged the government to maintain a balanced stance and to ensure that India’s security interests are not compromised by geopolitical alliances.
