The Indian National Congress has alleged that a large number of voter entries have been removed from the electoral roll in Haryana, warning that such action could undermine the democratic process.

The Indian National Congress announced that it has identified what it describes as a large‑scale deletion of voter records from the electoral roll in Haryana. The party said the alleged removals could disenfranchise thousands of eligible voters and weaken the integrity of upcoming elections.

Congress leaders urged the state election authorities and the Election Commission of India to launch an immediate inquiry into the matter. They called for a transparent audit of the voter database and for corrective action to restore any wrongly deleted entries.

As of now, the Election Commission has not issued a formal response to the allegations. Observers note that any irregularities in the electoral roll could have significant political implications, especially ahead of the next state assembly polls.
