CM Samrat Chaudhary surveys flood damage in Vaishali, Saran, hands compensation checks

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary inspected flood‑hit areas in Vaishali and Saran districts, distributing compensation checks to families of the deceased.
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary arrived in the flood‑stricken districts of Vaishali and Saran on Thursday to conduct a ground‑level assessment of the damage caused by recent heavy rains. Accompanied by senior officials from the state disaster management department, he toured inundated villages, inspected relief camps and met with local administrators to gauge the extent of displacement and infrastructure loss.
During the visit, the CM announced that compensation checks worth the amounts prescribed under the state’s flood relief scheme would be handed over to the dependents of those who lost their lives in the disaster. The checks were distributed on the spot to families identified by the district authorities, aiming to provide immediate financial assistance for burial expenses and urgent needs.
The chief minister also urged district officials to expedite the restoration of basic services such as electricity, drinking water and road connectivity. He reiterated the state government's commitment to mobilise additional resources for shelter, food distribution and medical aid for the affected population.
State disaster response teams continue to monitor water levels and have deployed rescue boats and medical units to the most vulnerable areas. The visit underscores the administration’s focus on swift relief and transparent disbursement of aid to flood victims.
