Chief Minister Rekha outlined a winter action plan for Delhi, detailing measures residents should follow and avoid during the cold spell.
Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha announced the rollout of a comprehensive Winter Action Plan aimed at mitigating the impact of the upcoming cold wave. In a video briefing, she highlighted the government's focus on ensuring public safety, uninterrupted power supply, and adequate heating facilities across the city.
The plan includes directives for households to use approved heating devices, avoid open fires, and keep indoor spaces well-ventilated. Authorities will also intensify street cleaning, increase the frequency of road de-icing, and deploy additional medical teams to monitor health issues such as hypothermia and respiratory ailments.
Transport services will be monitored closely, with the Delhi Transport Corporation instructed to run extra buses on high-demand routes and to ensure that vehicle heaters are functional. The municipal corporation will coordinate with utility providers to address any power outages promptly.
Residents are urged to stay informed through official channels, wear appropriate winter clothing, and limit outdoor exposure during extreme temperature drops. The Winter Action Plan will be operational from the first week of December and will be reviewed periodically based on weather forecasts.
