Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav performed the bhoomi pujan for the proposed Parshuram Lok, a cultural complex modelled on Mahakal Lok, at Janapav about 40 km from Indore.
The state government announced plans to develop a large‑scale Parshuram Lok near Janapav, a historic pilgrimage site located about 40 kilometres from Indore. The project, envisioned as a counterpart to the Mahakal Lok complex, aims to showcase the legend of Parshuram and attract religious tourists.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav personally performed the bhoomi pujan on Friday, marking the official start of construction. In his brief address, the CM highlighted the cultural and economic benefits of the new site, emphasizing its potential to boost local employment and promote Madhya Pradesh's heritage.
The development will be overseen by the state tourism department, which has earmarked funds for infrastructure, landscaping, and visitor facilities. Officials said the project will be completed in phases, with the first phase expected to be operational within two years.
Local residents and pilgrims welcomed the announcement, noting that Janapav already draws devotees due to its mythological significance. The Parshuram Lok is expected to complement existing attractions and enhance the region's profile as a spiritual tourism hub.
