Maharashtra's CM Eknath Fadnavis has publicly reprimanded local officials for inadequate road maintenance in Nashik, citing concerns over the influx of pilgrims for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Fadnavis took to the podium in Nashik yesterday to criticize local authorities for the poor condition of roads that will be used by millions of pilgrims during the Simhastha Kumbh Mela. He said the state must ensure that all major routes are repaired and properly maintained before the influx of devotees begins.
Fadnavis highlighted that several key stretches around the Kumbh Mela site are still in a state of disrepair, with potholes and cracked surfaces posing safety risks. He urged the district administration to expedite the work and to keep the public updated on progress.
In response, the Nashik Municipal Corporation spokesperson assured the CM that a comprehensive road improvement plan had been drafted and that crews were already mobilized. The spokesperson added that the state government would provide additional funding if required.
