The state Chief Minister has sanctioned a 3% Dearness Allowance increase for 8 lakh government employees and 5.5 lakh pensioners, lifting the total allowance to 63%.
The state government has approved a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for a large cohort of employees and pensioners. Eight lakh government employees and five and a half lakh pensioners will receive the hike.
The increase brings the total DA to 63%, a significant rise aimed at offsetting inflation and improving purchasing power for public servants and retirees.
The decision was taken after consultations with the finance department and was formally approved by the Chief Minister in a recent cabinet meeting.
Officials expect the move to boost morale among public servants and help pensioners cope with rising living costs.
