Supporters of the CJP are set to gather near Connaught Place today to raise the national flag, with police deployed to maintain order.
Delhi police have announced heightened vigilance as supporters of the CJP plan to assemble near Connaught Place this morning to hoist the Indian national flag. The gathering is expected to start shortly after sunrise, with participants arriving from various parts of the city.
The authorities have deployed additional personnel and traffic control measures around the historic commercial hub to ensure smooth movement and prevent any untoward incidents. Officers are stationed at key entry points and are prepared to intervene should the crowd exceed safety limits.
While the event is primarily a symbolic flag‑raising, it forms part of a broader series of activities that the group intends to conduct from Delhi to Mumbai over the coming days. Police briefings emphasize that the focus remains on maintaining public order while allowing the peaceful expression of political sentiment.
Organisers have not disclosed an exact number of attendees, but social media posts suggest a sizable turnout. The police have urged participants to cooperate with officials and adhere to COVID‑19 protocols still in force.
The flag‑hoisting is slated to be streamed live, allowing supporters across the country to witness the ceremony, which underscores the group's emphasis on national pride.
