The Central Investigation Department submitted a 97-page charge sheet in Ranchi’s special court, naming 12 accused—including former JPSC chief Khiyante—in the Medha recruitment scam.

Ranchi, Jharkhand – The Central Investigation Department (CID) has formally presented a 97-page charge sheet before a special court in Ranchi, targeting twelve individuals alleged to have orchestrated the Medha recruitment scam that rocked the state’s JPSC examinations. The case, first reported in early 2023, involved manipulation of the selection process for the Medha Group’s recruitment drives, prompting a high-profile investigation.
The charge sheet lists twelve accused, among them former JPSC chairman Khiyante, who is accused of colluding with other officials to influence candidate shortlists and award contracts. The document details alleged financial transactions, forged documents, and misuse of authority, spanning several months of the recruitment cycle.
The special court, constituted to expedite the trial, will now examine the evidence presented by CID. Prosecutors have indicated that the comprehensive dossier includes witness statements, forensic reports, and audit trails, aiming to establish a clear chain of culpability.
Legal experts anticipate that the case could set a precedent for handling large-scale recruitment frauds in India, while the accused await further hearings and possible bail applications.
