Community leader Chowna Mein appealed to young people to focus on schooling while actively preserving their cultural traditions.
In a recent public address, Chowna Mein, a well‑known community figure, urged the younger generation to place education at the forefront of their aspirations. He highlighted that formal learning equips youth with the skills needed to navigate a rapidly changing world.
Mein stressed that academic progress should not come at the expense of cultural identity. He pointed out that traditions, languages and local arts form the backbone of community cohesion and must be actively maintained.
The speaker called on students to participate in cultural events, support folk initiatives and learn indigenous knowledge alongside their studies. By doing so, he argued, young people can become ambassadors of both modern expertise and heritage.
Finally, Mein appealed to families and educators to create environments where education and cultural preservation reinforce each other, ensuring a balanced development for future generations.
