The Chhattisgarh government announced plans for a 'Riyasat Veethika' gallery aimed at preserving the cultural legacy of the region's fourteen former princely states.

The state government of Chhattisgarh has unveiled a project to establish a dedicated gallery named 'Riyasat Veethika'. The initiative seeks to collect, conserve and display artifacts, documents and other cultural material linked to the fourteen princely states that once existed in the region. By creating a permanent exhibition space, authorities aim to educate the public about the historical significance and diverse heritage of these erstwhile kingdoms.

The proposed gallery will focus on showcasing items such as royal regalia, manuscripts, photographs and traditional crafts that reflect the social, political and artistic achievements of the former states. Officials indicated that the project will involve collaboration with local historians, museums and descendant families to ensure authenticity and comprehensive representation.

Funding for the gallery is expected to come from the state's cultural budget, with additional support sought from central heritage schemes. Once operational, 'Riyasat Veethika' is slated to become a focal point for cultural tourism in Chhattisgarh, offering both residents and visitors a deeper insight into the region's princely past.
