The Chhattisgarh government signed a memorandum of understanding in Singapore to boost skill development, accompanied by a proposal for a ₹350 crore investment.
During a high‑level visit to Singapore, officials from the Chhattisgarh state government formalised a memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding skill‑development programmes for its youth. The agreement, signed with Singapore‑based partners, outlines collaborative training modules, curriculum design and certification standards that will be adapted for the state's vocational institutes.
Alongside the MoU, a separate investment proposal worth ₹350 crore was presented, earmarked for setting up state‑of‑the‑art training centres, digital learning platforms and industry‑linked apprenticeship slots. The funding is expected to be channelled through public‑private partnerships, with a focus on sectors such as manufacturing, information technology and renewable energy.
State officials said the initiative is part of Chhattisgarh's broader strategy to enhance employability and attract new industries. By linking international expertise with local talent, the government hopes to create thousands of skilled jobs and reduce the region's dependence on traditional agriculture.
The MoU will be operationalised over the next twelve months, with periodic reviews to assess progress and align future investments with the state's economic goals.
