The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister inaugurated the Jashpur Express Yojana on Tuesday at a ceremony held in Jashpur district. The launch aimed to boost women’s mobility and employment by providing them with modern electric rickshaws.
A total of 50 women were selected to receive the free e‑rickshaws, with the government citing the initiative as a step toward inclusive development. The rickshaws are expected to offer a cleaner, cost‑effective mode of transport for daily commuting.
Officials said the scheme would also create ancillary job opportunities for women in maintenance and operations. The launch was attended by local leaders, women’s group representatives and media personnel.
