CheQ, a leading credit‑card management platform, introduced CheQ UPI on August 26, allowing RuPay credit‑card holders to settle payments by scanning any UPI QR code.
Bengaluru‑based fintech firm CheQ announced the rollout of CheQ UPI on August 26, extending its services from credit‑card management to everyday digital transactions. The new platform lets users link their bank accounts and RuPay credit cards to make instant UPI payments by simply scanning QR codes at merchants nationwide. CheQ says the service is designed to offer a rewarding experience for RuPay card users, integrating credit‑card benefits with the convenience of UPI. The launch positions CheQ among a growing number of Indian fintechs expanding into the UPI ecosystem, which handles billions of transactions daily. Industry observers note that the move could boost adoption of RuPay cards for everyday purchases, especially in tier‑2 and tier‑3 cities.
The company highlighted that the solution works across India's extensive merchant network, requiring no additional hardware beyond a smartphone. Users can manage their linked cards and view transaction history within CheQ's existing app, maintaining a single interface for credit‑card statements and UPI payments. CheQ UPI is expected to be available to all registered users immediately after the announcement.
CheQ's launch comes as the Reserve Bank of India continues to promote interoperability between payment systems, encouraging credit‑card issuers to integrate with UPI. The firm plans to roll out promotional rewards and cashback offers to drive early adoption among RuPay cardholders.
