The Election Commission’s ongoing voter‑list revision in Jharkhand has placed the Chatra assembly seat under close scrutiny.
The Election Commission of India has launched a systematic revision of voter rolls across Jharkhand as part of its routine electoral update. Among the 81 assembly constituencies, the Chatra seat has attracted particular attention from officials overseeing the process.
Authorities are cross‑checking entries, removing duplicate or outdated records and ensuring that eligible residents are correctly listed. The focus on Chatra reflects concerns about the accuracy of the roll in the region, which could affect voter participation in upcoming polls.
The revision is expected to be completed before the next state assembly election, after which the finalized list will be made publicly available for verification.
