Centre Commends Tamil Nadu CM Vijay’s Aviation Fuel Tax Cut

The Union government praised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay for reducing the aviation fuel tax, calling the move a boost for the state’s travel sector.
The central government publicly lauded the decision taken by Tamil Nadu’s chief minister Vijay to lower the tax on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) for flights operating within the state.
The tax reduction, announced earlier this week, is expected to lower operating costs for airlines, potentially translating into cheaper airfares and increased passenger traffic to and from Tamil Nadu’s airports.
In a statement, a senior official of the Ministry of Finance thanked the state leadership, using the respectful address “Thiru,” and said the move aligns with the central government’s broader goal of promoting regional connectivity and tourism.
