Centre Announces Three New Special NIA Courts in Rajasthan, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh

The Union government has approved the creation of three dedicated National Investigation Agency courts, one each in Rajasthan, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, to expedite NIA cases.
The Ministry of Home Affairs announced that three new special courts under the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will be set up, with one each in Rajasthan, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh.
These courts are intended to handle cases investigated by the NIA, aiming to reduce pendency and ensure swift justice in matters of terrorism, organised crime and other national‑security offences.
The decision follows a review of the existing judicial infrastructure, where the government identified a need for dedicated benches to manage the growing caseload of NIA investigations across the country.
The locations for the courts will be finalised in consultation with the respective state governments, and appointments of judges will be made as per the NIA Act provisions.
Officials said the new courts will strengthen the legal framework for combating serious crimes and reinforce the central agency’s ability to prosecute high‑profile cases efficiently.
