Surveillance video from an Amravati hospital captured the activation of alarms and flashing lights moments before a fire started, raising questions about the facility's emergency response.
A fire erupted at a hospital in Amravati, Maharashtra, prompting an immediate evacuation of patients and staff. CCTV recordings released by the hospital show that the building's alarm system and flashing warning lights were activated shortly before the blaze became visible, suggesting that the fire detection mechanisms functioned as intended.
The footage has drawn scrutiny from local authorities and health regulators, who are now reviewing the hospital's emergency preparedness and response protocols. Officials have confirmed that no casualties were reported, but the incident caused significant disruption to medical services for several hours.
Hospital administrators have pledged a thorough investigation and have assured the public that corrective measures will be taken to prevent a recurrence. The state health department has been asked to audit safety systems across similar facilities in the region.
Meanwhile, fire officials are examining the cause of the fire, which remains under investigation, and have urged hospitals to regularly test alarm and evacuation systems.
The incident underscores the importance of robust fire safety infrastructure in healthcare institutions, especially in densely populated urban centers like Amravati.
