Investigators have uncovered that private individuals accessed classified government documents linked to OSD Rajbir Singh Ghuman, prompting a CBI probe into possible policy manipulation for business gains.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been directed to examine a corruption case involving Rajbir Singh Ghuman, the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Punjab Chief Minister. Preliminary findings suggest that confidential government files were accessed by individuals outside the official channel, raising concerns about breach of secrecy.

According to sources, the same set of documents were allegedly used to influence policy decisions that could benefit private business interests linked to the OSD. Investigators are focusing on how the files were transferred and whether any official directives were altered to serve commercial goals.

The CBI’s involvement marks a significant escalation, as the probe will scrutinise the chain of custody of the classified material and any potential collusion between government officials and private actors. Officials have not disclosed the names of the private individuals involved, but the investigation aims to determine if any legal provisions were violated.

Punjab’s political leadership has responded by stating that they will cooperate fully with the central agency and that any wrongdoing will be dealt with according to law. The case adds to a series of recent inquiries into alleged misuse of power within state administrations.

Further updates are expected as the CBI reviews the evidence and conducts interviews with relevant parties.
