The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has officially registered a criminal case against eight candidates who attempted to secure the rural postman position in Jabalpur by submitting fabricated 10th‑grade mark sheets and score cards. The fraud came to light during the routine document verification stage of the recruitment drive conducted by the postal department.
According to the CBI, the verification team identified discrepancies in the academic certificates presented by the aspirants. Further forensic examination confirmed that the mark sheets were counterfeit, prompting the agency to file a First Information Report (FIR) against the eight individuals and several others who were allegedly involved in the forgery network.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and that any person found guilty of tampering with official recruitment documents will face stringent legal action under the Indian Penal Code.
