CAQM Warns of Rising Farm Fires in Punjab

CAQM has issued a statement warning about a spurt in farm fires in Punjab, noting the potential damage to crops and the environment. The agency highlighted that the recent spike in incidents could be linked to extreme heat and dry conditions, though it has not yet identified a definitive cause. CAQM urged state and local authorities to conduct investigations, improve fire safety protocols, and provide support to affected farmers. The body also called for coordinated efforts between agricultural departments and fire services to prevent further losses and safeguard the state's agricultural productivity.
