The proposed facility will be set up at Vadinar, a strategic coastal town on the Arabian Sea, and is expected to handle both commercial and naval vessels, thereby strengthening the region's ship‑maintenance capabilities.
Funding for the venture will come from central government allocations, with the project slated to commence construction later this year. Officials anticipate that the complex will generate several thousand direct and indirect jobs and stimulate ancillary industries in the area.
