After thirteen years, sacred Buddha relics were brought back to Arunachal Pradesh and formally unveiled at the historic Tawang Monastery.

Religious officials announced that a collection of Buddha relics, which had been absent from Arunachal Pradesh for thirteen years, was officially returned to the state. The relics were unveiled during a solemn ceremony at the Tawang Monastery, a prominent Buddhist site in the region.

The event drew a gathering of monks, local dignitaries, and devotees, all of whom participated in traditional rites and prayers. The unveiling was marked by the chanting of mantras and the lighting of incense, underscoring the spiritual significance of the relics.

The Tawang Monastery, situated in the remote hills of Arunachal Pradesh, has long been a center of Buddhist learning and pilgrimage. The return of the relics is expected to strengthen the monastery’s role as a custodian of Buddhist heritage in the northeastern part of India.

Officials said the relics had been safeguarded in a secure facility before being transported back to the monastery. The ceremony was broadcast live, allowing followers across the country to witness the moment.

The return of the Buddha relics is seen as a symbolic gesture of cultural and religious revival for the Buddhist community in Arunachal Pradesh.
