New Delhi – The chief of the Border Security Force (BSF) arrived in Manipur to conduct a comprehensive review of the state's security posture. During the visit, he inspected ongoing operations and discussed challenges faced by the force in the region.
The BSF chief subsequently met with Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey, where they exchanged views on the overall law‑and‑order scenario and the steps needed to strengthen border management. The discussion highlighted coordination between the central forces and the state administration.
Later, the chief held a separate meeting with Chief Minister N. Biren Singh. Both officials emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in the volatile border districts and pledged to enhance intelligence sharing and rapid response mechanisms.
The visits are part of a broader effort by the central government to monitor and improve security in India's northeastern frontier, especially in areas prone to insurgency and cross‑border infiltration.
The BSF chief concluded the trip with a commitment to continue regular engagements with Manipur's leadership to ensure sustained stability and safety for the local populace.
