Multiple Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders were booked after police said they were attacked outside the Telangana Legislative Assembly, with KT Rama Rao among those named.
Earlier today, police officials reported that a group of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders assaulted constables stationed outside the Telangana Legislative Assembly in Hyderabad. Among the accused, senior leader KT Rama Rao was specifically identified and taken into custody.
The police statement said the leaders approached the security personnel, allegedly using force and verbal abuse, prompting officers to file a First Information Report (FIR) against them. The FIR cites sections of the Indian Penal Code related to assault on a public servant and obstruction of duty.
Law enforcement agencies have informed the court that the accused will appear for further interrogation. The incident has temporarily disrupted the routine functioning of the assembly precincts, though legislative proceedings continued after security was restored.
