Boyfriend kills girlfriend’s aunt, shoots uncle and commits suicide in Chitrakoot

A man identified as the boyfriend of a local girl shot and killed his girlfriend’s aunt, wounded her uncle and later took his own life after being taken into custody in Chitrakoot.
Police in Chitrakoot said that a suspect, described as the boyfriend of a resident girl, entered the victim’s home and opened fire, killing the girl’s aunt and injuring her uncle. The uncle survived the gunshot wound and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The accused was apprehended by local authorities shortly after the incident. While in police custody, he allegedly took his own life, prompting a separate investigation into the circumstances of his death.
Investigators have collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and are questioning family members and neighbours to reconstruct the sequence of events. The case is being treated as a homicide‑suicide, and officials have urged the public to refrain from speculation until the inquiry is complete.
