The India‑China border remains tense, the Director General of the Indo‑Tibetan Border Police said, highlighting continued vigilance on the frontier.

New Delhi – The Director General of the Indo‑Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) told reporters that the situation along the India‑China frontier continues to be tense. He emphasized that the force remains on high alert and is closely monitoring any developments on the disputed stretch of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The DG refrained from providing detailed operational specifics but reiterated that the ITBP is prepared to respond to any escalation. He also noted that diplomatic channels are being used to manage the standoff, while ground troops maintain a robust presence to deter any breach. The statement comes amid a series of recent reports of increased patrol activity by both sides along the Himalayan border.

The ITBP, which is the primary agency tasked with guarding the LAC, has been reinforcing its surveillance and logistics capabilities in the region. According to the DG, the force is coordinating with the Indian Army and other security agencies to ensure a unified response. He urged the public to stay informed through official channels and avoid speculation that could inflame the situation.

While the border remains a flashpoint, officials said there is no immediate indication of a large‑scale confrontation. The DG concluded by assuring that the government is committed to safeguarding national security and maintaining peace along the Himalayan frontier.
