Bihar’s youngest BJP legislator, Maithili Thakur, has been promoted within the party, and six other young leaders from the state have been appointed to the BJP’s national team.
Maithili Thakur, the 28‑year‑old MLA from Bihar, has been given a higher profile role in the Bharatiya Janata Party, marking her as the party’s youngest legislator to receive such an elevation. The move was announced by the state BJP office in Patna, highlighting her growing influence within the party’s youth wing.
Alongside Thakur’s promotion, six emerging leaders from Bihar – all under 35 – have been inducted into the BJP’s national team. The selected members include activists and local party workers who have been active in recent election campaigns and grassroots mobilisation.
Party officials said the appointments aim to inject fresh energy into the national leadership and to reflect the party’s commitment to nurturing young talent from the eastern region. The decision is expected to strengthen BJP’s outreach among young voters in Bihar ahead of upcoming state and national elections.
