The BJP has cautioned against a separatist mindset after Tamil Nadu and Karnataka leaders pushed for separate state flags.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a stern warning against a separatist mindset following calls for distinct state flags in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Party leaders emphasized that such demands could undermine national unity and foster division.
The flag debate surfaced when regional leaders in both states advocated for symbols that would differentiate their identities from the national flag. The BJP’s response underscored the importance of a cohesive national identity and cautioned that regional symbols should not replace the Indian tricolor.
In a statement, the party reiterated its commitment to a united India, urging citizens to respect the national flag while encouraging cultural diversity within the framework of the Constitution.
