BJP leaders in Karnataka accused the state Congress of sidelining women in its ranks, calling the party’s rhetoric ‘all slogans, no substance’ during a recent internal crisis.
Karnataka’s political landscape saw heightened tension on Tuesday as senior BJP figures publicly rebuked the state Congress for what they described as a glaring neglect of women in its organisational hierarchy. The criticism came amid an ongoing internal crisis within the Karnataka Congress, where factional disputes have intensified.
BJP spokespersons argued that the Congress’s promises to empower women remain mere slogans, pointing to the low number of female office‑bearers and candidates in recent party activities. They urged the opposition to translate rhetoric into concrete appointments, highlighting the need for greater gender balance in decision‑making bodies.
The Congress has not issued an official response to the BJP’s allegations as of now, and political analysts note that the exchange underscores the broader contest for voter support ahead of upcoming state elections.
