The recent by‑elections for five seats saw the BJP win multiple constituencies in West Bengal, strengthening the ruling coalition’s position.
The latest by‑polls covering five assembly seats were concluded this week, delivering a decisive performance for the Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal. BJP candidates secured victories in several of the contested constituencies, marking the party’s strongest showing in the state’s recent electoral contests.
These results have been interpreted as a boost for the ruling coalition at the centre, where the BJP leads the National Democratic Alliance. Political analysts note that the wins could enhance the party’s leverage in upcoming state and national elections.
Election officials confirmed the outcomes after counting was completed, and local party workers celebrated the victories across the affected districts. The by‑poll outcomes are expected to influence the strategic calculations of both the ruling and opposition parties in the region.
