The ruling BJP has launched a series of responses to opposition claims of vote theft, emphasizing procedural transparency and the Election Commission’s oversight.

New Delhi – In the run‑up to the upcoming polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stepped up its defence against opposition accusations that it is engaged in "vote chori" or vote theft. Party officials have issued public statements denying any wrongdoing and asserting that the electoral process is being overseen by an independent Election Commission.

Senior leaders have also highlighted internal mechanisms within the party that monitor candidate selection and campaign financing, describing them as transparent and compliant with the law. The BJP’s communication wing has circulated these points across social media platforms and traditional media to counter the narrative advanced by rival parties.

The party’s response comes as opposition groups intensify criticism, alleging irregularities in previous elections. By foregrounding procedural safeguards and the role of the Election Commission, the BJP aims to reassure voters that the upcoming vote will be free and fair.

Analysts note that the BJP’s strategy focuses on narrative control rather than new policy announcements, seeking to neutralise the "vote chori" charge before it gains wider traction among the electorate.
