The Bharatiya Janata Party warned that filing FIRs over Form‑7 submissions in Karnataka could trigger protests, according to a report in The Economic Times.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a caution that the recent filing of First Information Reports (FIRs) against officials for alleged irregularities in Form‑7 submissions could spark agitation in Karnataka. The warning was conveyed through party spokespersons who said the move to lodge FIRs was politically motivated and could destabilise the state's administrative machinery.

Form‑7, a statutory document used by local bodies to record financial and personnel details, has become the focus of a dispute after several complaints were lodged alleging procedural lapses. The BJP argued that the FIRs, filed by opposition members, were intended to create a climate of unrest ahead of upcoming local elections.

Party leaders urged the state government to intervene and ensure that any protest remains peaceful, while also calling for a transparent inquiry into the allegations. The Economic Times reported the statement, noting that the BJP has threatened to mobilise its cadre if the FIRs lead to widespread disruption.
