Bittu Tabahi, a local activist, expressed frustration after discovering the Ajnar River in Madhya Pradesh clogged with garbage, undermining eight months of cleanup work.
Bittu Tabahi, a local environmental activist, visited the Ajnar River in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday and found the waterway clogged with piles of garbage.
The discovery comes after an eight‑month cleanup campaign launched by local authorities and community groups, which had reportedly cleared large sections of the river.
Tabahi said the new litter accumulation undermines the entire effort, calling it "wasted" and demanding immediate action to prevent further pollution.
Officials have yet to respond, but the incident highlights ongoing challenges in maintaining river cleanliness amid rapid urbanisation and inadequate waste management.
