Jagran Josh, a leading educational news portal, has released a comprehensive list of all Ramsar sites located in Bihar for the year 2026. The compilation enumerates every wetland in the state that has been recognized under the international Ramsar Convention, which aims to promote the wise use and conservation of wetlands worldwide.
The publication highlights Bihar's commitment to preserving its diverse aquatic ecosystems, which play a crucial role in biodiversity, flood mitigation, and local livelihoods. By making the list publicly available, the portal seeks to raise awareness among policymakers, researchers, and the general public about the importance of these habitats.
Environmental experts note that such transparency can aid in monitoring the health of the wetlands and in formulating targeted conservation strategies. The list serves as a reference point for future assessments and for aligning state-level initiatives with global wetland conservation standards.
