The newly built international cricket stadium in Rajgir will host its inaugural match as Bihar faces Uttar Pradesh, following the renovation of Patna's Moinul Haq Stadium.
The Bihar Cricket Association has confirmed that the first inter‑state fixture at the newly constructed Rajgir International Cricket Stadium will feature the home side against Uttar Pradesh. The match marks the stadium's debut in hosting a senior domestic game, signaling a boost for cricket infrastructure in the region.
The decision comes after the Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna was closed for extensive renovation, prompting the association to relocate its home fixtures to Rajgir. Officials said the new venue meets international standards and will help promote the sport in the historic city.
Both teams are expected to field their regular squads, with local fans keenly watching the performance of emerging talents such as Rinku and Vaibhav, who have been highlighted in recent domestic circuits. The fixture is slated for next month, with ticket sales to begin shortly.
Authorities have assured that all necessary security and logistical arrangements are in place, aiming for a smooth inaugural event that could pave the way for future high‑profile matches in Bihar.
