The Bihar government will conduct a scheduled siren test across the state today, outlining when and where the alarm will be heard as part of disaster‑management preparedness.
The state administration has announced that a civil‑defence siren will be activated today across Bihar as part of a routine emergency‑alert drill.
The exercise is intended to familiarize residents with the warning tone and to verify the operational readiness of the siren network that was previously used during heightened tensions with Pakistan.
Authorities have released a timetable indicating that the alarm will be audible in major districts such as Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur and other key locations during the morning hours, with each blast lasting a few minutes.
The disaster‑management department stressed that the test does not imply any imminent danger and asked the public to remain calm.
This drill forms a component of Bihar's broader strategy to strengthen response mechanisms for natural calamities and security incidents.
