Bihar Power Dept Prepares 24‑Hour Supply for Durga Puja, Installs AB Cables

The Bihar electricity department has stepped up preparations to ensure uninterrupted power for Durga Puja, installing AB cables in place of bare wires and carrying out safety works around pandals.
Bihar's electricity department announced intensified measures to guarantee a continuous 24‑hour power supply during the Shardiy Navaratri celebrations, especially for Durga Puja events across the state. The agency aims to prevent outages that could disrupt rituals and lighting displays.
Around the pandals, crews are replacing exposed bare wires with insulated AB (Aluminium‑Steel) cables, a step intended to reduce the risk of short circuits and fire hazards. The new cables meet higher safety standards and are being installed ahead of the festival rush.
Additional safety work includes trimming overhanging branches that could interfere with overhead lines and repairing the earthing of transformers serving the event zones. These actions are part of a broader effort to secure the electrical infrastructure before the influx of devotees.
