A man accused of orchestrating a 2.4 lakh fraud under the pretext of arranging a program for Maithili Thakur was arrested by Bihar police after evading authorities for two years.

According to police reports, the accused allegedly raised money from several individuals by promising to secure a performance for Thakur, but the funds were never used for the event. The alleged scam, which has drawn public attention, also involves a separate claim of a 47 lakh fraud that has sparked widespread outrage.
Bihar Police spokesperson said the arrest was part of an ongoing investigation into financial fraud cases linked to entertainment events. The suspect was taken into custody at a police station in Patna and is expected to face charges under the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
