Minister Dilip Jaiswal has directed a probe into the gas pipeline rupture on Gobarsahi‑Dumri road in Muzaffarpur, and ordered a review of the gas firm, road department and contractor’s role.

A gas pipeline on Gobarsahi‑Dumri road in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, ruptured, causing damage to several residential houses. The incident, reported by local media, prompted immediate concern from authorities and residents.

State Minister Dilip Jaiswal announced that a formal inquiry will be launched to ascertain the causes of the breach. He instructed officials to scrutinise the involvement of the gas supply company, the road‑construction department and the contractor responsible for the work.

The government has been asked to draft a letter seeking compensation for families whose homes were affected. Details of the compensation package and the timeline for the investigation have not yet been disclosed.

Authorities said the probe will be conducted swiftly to prevent any recurrence and to ensure accountability among the parties involved.
