The Bihar education department announced plans to fill 4,156 vacant teaching and support positions on a contractual basis.
The education department of Bihar has issued a notice to recruit over four thousand contract staff to address long‑standing vacancies in schools across the state.
The positions, which include teachers, assistant teachers and other support roles, will be filled on a contractual basis for a specified period, as outlined in the department’s latest circular.
Officials said the move aims to improve student‑teacher ratios and ensure uninterrupted teaching services, especially in rural districts where vacancies have been acute.
Applications are expected to be invited through the state’s online recruitment portal, with eligibility criteria and selection procedures detailed in the official advertisement.
