Bihar's chief minister, Samrat Chaudhary, announced that a second installment of flood relief has been credited to the accounts of 1.60 lakh families affected by recent floods. The disbursement, made through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, totals ₹112.14 crore, with each household receiving ₹7,000.
The payment aims to provide immediate financial support for essential needs such as food, clothing and temporary shelter as rehabilitation efforts continue across the flood‑hit districts. Officials said the funds will be available in beneficiaries' bank accounts within a few days.
With this tranche, the cumulative assistance provided by the Bihar government for flood relief has reached ₹726 crore since the disaster began. The administration has urged affected families to use the money for reconstruction and to report any issues with the transfer process.
State authorities continue to monitor the situation on the ground, coordinating with district officials to ensure that relief reaches all vulnerable communities promptly.
