Bidar: The Bidar District Police held a special commemoration for Police Martyrs' Day at Kavyat Maidan. The event honored the bravery, courage, and sacrifice of police personnel who laid down their lives for the nation and law enforcement.
The ceremony recalled the 21 October 1959 incident involving the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) led by DySP Karan Singh. Singh and nine CRPF personnel bravely fought against an armed Chinese attack at the Hot Springs area on the India-China border in Ladakh, ultimately sacrificing their lives. The names of police officers and staff who sacrificed their lives protecting internal security and fulfilling their duties were respectfully read aloud. The event was attended by Madhav Vitthalrao Gitte, Chief Executive Officer of Bidar Zilla Panchayat, along with prominent district officials, police officers, staff, and media representatives. The tribute was organized under the guidance of Pradeep Gunti, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Bidar.
