Bidar Dalit Committee Demands Quality Check on SCP-TSP Works and School Admission Probe
Bidar: The Karnataka Dalit Sangharsha Samiti, founded by Prof. B. Krishnappa, has urged a comprehensive investigation into the quality of works under the SCP/TSP projects in Bidar and Aurad taluks, along with the selection and transfer processes of students in social welfare hostels. The committee alleged substandard quality and non-compliance with regulations in some SCP/TSP works and demanded departmental officials personally inspect sites to ensure quality construction.
The committee also highlighted slow progress in Ambedkar Bhavan construction across various taluks and requested immediate release of pending funds for swift completion. Concerns were raised about lack of transparency in the selection and transfer of students from 6th to 10th grade at Morarji Desai, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Kittur Rani Channamma hostels, urging a thorough investigation and legal action against guilty officials. Leaders including Jaiprakash Ashture, Dhanraj Mustapur, and Vijaykumar Aihole submitted the appeal pressing for urgent government action and advocated transferring principals serving over five years to other districts to promote transparent administration.
