Bhopal Administration Issues Notices for Over 3,000 Dilapidated Buildings, Only 35 Removed So Far

Over 3,000 dilapidated buildings have been identified in Bhopal, prompting the administration to issue notices as the monsoon began. So far, only 35 structures have been demolished and five vacated.
The Bhopal municipal authorities have identified more than three thousand dilapidated structures across the city. With the onset of the monsoon season, notices were issued to the owners of these unsafe buildings demanding immediate action.
To date, only thirty‑five of the marked buildings have been demolished and five have been vacated. The remaining structures continue to pose a risk to thousands of residents living in or near them.
Officials say the pace of removal is slow due to legal and logistical challenges, but they stress that the notices remain in effect and further action will be taken as resources allow.
