Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that West Bengal can forward the ongoing I‑PAC raid investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Kolkata, Oct 29 — West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that the state government has the option to refer the I‑PAC raid case to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The comment was made during a press interaction, underscoring the administration's willingness to involve the federal investigative agency if deemed necessary.

Banerjee did not provide details on the progress of the raid or any pending legal steps, but emphasized that the decision to approach the CBI rests with the state. She added that the move would aim to ensure a transparent and impartial inquiry.

The I‑PAC raid, which has drawn political attention, involves a search of the data analytics firm that works with several political parties. By signalling a possible CBI referral, the Bengal government seeks to address concerns over the handling of the case.

No official request to the CBI has been filed yet, and the central agency has not commented on the matter.
